'21 Jump Street' cast: Where are they now?

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum stole the show in the comic movie version of 21 Jump Street this weekend, raking in $35 million at the box office. But what happened to the original stars of thehourlong Fox drama series which ran from 1987-1991? USA TODAY checks out where they are now.
Holly Robinson Peete, 47
Street character: Officer Judy Hoffs, the only member of the unit who attended college and only member of the original cast who stayed for the entire run of the series
Case file update: Keep an eye out for a cameo from Robinson Peete in the movie reboot. After the original TV series ended, she jumped to comedy in Hangin' with Mr. Cooper (1992-1997), . She then starred in the comedy For Your Love (1998-2002). She worked on other short-lived TV series including WB's Like Family and UPN's Love Inc. In 2010, she landed a gig as co-host on The Talk, CBS network's answer to ABC's The View. But that stint only lasted about a year as she and colleague Leah Remini were let go in August 2011. More recently, she had a recurring role on CBS comedy Mike & Molly .
Off the job: Robinson Peete married former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete in 1995. They have four children. The couple founded the HollyRod Foundation, which assists families living with autism and Parkinson's disease. Son RJ was diagnosed with autism and Holly's father was diagnosed with PD in 1982 when he was 42.
Johnny Depp, 48
Street character: Officer Tom Hanson, a baby-faced cop who also was a musician and bowler who left the show in 1990
Case file update: The actor joins Robinson Peete in making a cameo in the current comedy version of Jump Street. Deep made the jump from from Jump Street to the movies with his role in 1990's Edward Scissorhands . He went on to more headline-making roles in movies such as Benny & Joon (1993), Pirates of the Carribbean movie franchise (2003, 2006, 2007 and 2011) and Rango (2011). Depp's nabbed three lead actor Oscar nominations, but has not yet won. Up next: Gothic horror tale Dark Shadows (May) and The Lone Ranger in which Depp plays Tonto (May 2013).
Off the job: Depp and French model/actress Vanessa Paradis, 39, have two children: daughter Lily-Rose, 12 , and son Jack, 9 .
Richard Grieco, 46
Street character: Officer Dennis Booker joined the cast in 1988 and was the rebellious cop who defied authority and eventually was assigned a desk job which allowed him to seek employment elsewhere and be spun off into his own series, Booker (1989-90)
Case file update: After Booker, Grieco became a regular of TV movies with titles such as Born to Run (1993), Sin and Redemption (1994), A Vow to Kill (1995) and Ultimate Deception (1999). More recently, he played Steve Botando from 2006-07 on Veronica Mars and Loki in Syfy's movie Almighty Thor in 2011. The actor is also a musician and in 1994 he released his first single CD in Germany called Voice with No Name.
Off the job: Grieco, who is single, has one son: Dylan Justice Sissons, born in 1999. The boy's mother is Grieco's ex, model and actress Kimber Sissons.
Steven Williams, 63
Street character: Captain Adam Fuller, tough leader and father figure to the unit of young officers
Case file update: Williams, who directed an episode of Jump Street in 1991, continued his television career after the show ended. He was General Vidrine on Stargate SG-1 and appeared in more than a dozen episodes of Fox hit The X-Files (1993-2002) as Mr. X. He was bar owner Russell "Linc" Lincoln in Showtime/BET comedy Linc's (1998-2000). More recently, fans have seen him on CW's Supernatural as hunter Rufus Turner.
Off the job: While he doesn't talk much about his personal life with the press, he does make appearances to discuss his work with fans. In a 2011 Supernatural panel in Los Angeles, Williams asked the audience who remembered him from X-Files. There was loud applause. Someone shouted, "21 Jump Street." Williams got up out of his seat and bowed to the crowd and announced, "I've never worked a day in my life." He explained later, "I don't work. I go and play on the set."
Peter DeLuise, 45
Street character: Officer Doug Penhall, the one who would provide comic relief and also Hanson's bigger partner in the unit (In a case of art imitating reality, DeLuise's younger brother, Michael, would become a series regular in 1990 playing his character's younger brother.)
Case file update: After Jump Street, DeLuise, son of Dom DeLuise, appeared in NBC sci-fi series SeaQuest 2032 (1993-96). He directed a few episodes of Jump Street and then followed up on that experience with more TV directing gigs, including Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis and Andromeda. More recently, he has been directing episodes of Syfy's crime mystery drama Sanctuary, SGU Stargate Universe, Cartoon Network's Level Up and R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour.
Off the job: He and wife Anne Marie DeLuise have a son, Jake, 7. Anne Marie played TV reporter Naomi Van Horn on CW's Smallville .
Dustin Nguyen, 49
Street character: Officer Harry Truman Ioki, an original member of the unit who was a Vietnamese refugee trying to pass as Japanese
Case file update: Post Jump Street Nguyen got a gig as Chief William Shan in several episodes of SeaQuest 2032 (1993-96). Then he landed a role on Pamela Anderson's crime action comedy, V.I.P. (1998-2002). He has big-screen credits as well with roles in Oliver Stone's Heaven & Earth (1993) and the Australian drama Little Fish (2005), where he starred opposite Cate Blanchett. More recently, he has been focusing on a career behind the camera as a producer of Vietnamese films.
Off the job: The avid martial arts practitioner has been married to former model and actress Angela Rockwood for nearly 11 years.
