TV tonight: 'Bones,' 'Molly,' 'Castle'
Posted February 10, 2013
Bones | Fox, 8 ET/PT
Why have a gunshot send Brennan into critical care when we all know she isn't going to die? So she can have a near-death experience and talk to her late mother, played by guest star Brooke Langton. Knowing Brennan's opinions on the spiritual world and the afterlife, it should be an interesting conversation - and an episode Bones fans probably won't want to miss.
Mike & Molly | CBS, 9:30 ET/PT
If all those previews for CBS' Monday comedy block Valentine's Day celebration have put you in a sitcom mood, your best choice is likely to be a sweeter-than-usual outing of Mike & Molly, which finds the pair setting up their overeater pal Harry (David Higgins) with Molly's sister Victoria (Katy Mixon). As with every CBS Monday show, the writing leans toward the vulgar, but the performances from this show's very strong ensemble make up for it. Plus, Molly offers a weekly opportunity to see Melissa McCarthy -- who is building a budding movie career for herself -- for free, and she never disappoints. There isn't a more skilled or charismatic performer working in sitcoms today.
Castle | ABC, 10 ET/PT
Last week Castle returned to its long-arc story about the murder of Beckett's mother - a plot that, as you'd imagine, always produces the show's most serious episodes. Tonight, the show seems set to return to a more comic-tinged mix, as Castle and Beckett investigate a murder on the set of a Real Housewives-style show. Oh, and as an added treat for Firefly fans, one of the wives is played by Nathan Fillion's former co-star, Gina Torres.
