One of the best meal experiences I've had in a while. I'm always hesitant about places that let me "build-my-own" anything; I'm not the chef or even a cook, you guys are. Why would you trust me to make something good when I'm just going to blame you when it comes out bad?
So I was tempted to order off the specialty burger list and take the pressure off myself. But I prevailed against the temptation, and built myself a burger with soft brie, grilled onions, grilled pineapple, mixed greens, and green chiles, with ginger soy glaze on a multi-grain bun. And I have to give some credit to myself... it was fantastic. If anything, the green chiles were unnecessary, but everything else blended together beautifully.
We ordered shakes, chocolate peanut butter, and a banana. Again, smash hits all around. I finished my plate and my shake and wanted more shake, even though it would have put me in serious pain to finish it. Best chocolate peanut butter shake since Beef 'n Bun in El Cajon.
Thank you, The Counter. You're a classy establishment, serving quality burgers at a reasonable price. So many people are trying to do what you're doing, but so many are doing it at a much lower level. You're the real deal.
