The hyped thing here is the burgers, which is great because that's what I wanted to order anyway. So I ordered the Stinky burger, with blue cheese. Amazing. Simple and delicious and cooked perfectly medium rare.
The maple glazed sweet potato fries are always welcome, but are really heavy when confronted with an entire entree as well. Fried zucchini? They're passable. Go with the tots or the sweet potato fries.
I was really pleased with the atmosphere, imagining it to be a lot more, uh, "Gaslamp" than it actually was. By that, I mean I was expecting a lot of oonce, oonce, and very little in the way of good food. Not to mention, they had fresh Hop Head Red on tap. FRESH. So it's nice when bars either have 1) decent attendance and keg turnover or 2) respect for the customer to move a stale keg off. I feel like it's rare to find this respect and care for craft beer downtown. Maybe that's just my feeling and not reality, but regardless, I think downtown's businesses are catching up to the rest of the county in providing and caring for excellent beer.
But seriously, just order a burger and get happy. So good!
